Chicago Sky star Angel Reese’s superb rookie season has come to an abrupt end due to a wrist injury she sustained this week.
Taking to her social media on Saturday, Reese announced that she is out for the rest of the season. She pledged to continue cheering on her team for the remainder of the season.
“I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next. Although this is God’s timing and not mine, I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break. “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.” You’ll still see me being the biggest cheerleader on the sideline! And Unrivaled league, see you soon!” she wrote in her message.
Fans have taken to the replies to send Reese well wishes and congratulate her on what was an otherwise stellar rookie year.
“wishing you a speedy recovery, congrats on a good rookie season i’m sorry it got cut short,” one user wrote.
“We love you Angel! What a year it was! Historic rookie season!” wrote another.
“I NEVER knew I could cry so long and hard. Keep grinding Angel. My 8 year old son TahChon cried reading this post,” a third replied.
Reese certainly made her presence felt in the WNBA this year and seems primed to be a force in the league for years to come.
