LSU is coming off an emotional win against Ole Miss last Saturday.
LSU forced overtime after the fourth quarter before snatching a 29-26 win and improving to 5-1 on the season.
After the win, LSU fans in Baton Rouge stormed the field since the program had beaten a fellow ranked team but head coach Brian Kelly wasn’t and still isn’t thrilled about it.
It’s not something he likes very much since he thinks it can be a bit nerve-wracking.
“Look, it always is the result of a good thing,” Kelly said, (first transcribed by On3). “From that perspective, I guess your mindset is, ‘Okay, that’s good.’ But it’s not comfortable. You’re in a mass of people, and you’re being moved through a crowd of people. And you’re worried about somebody getting knocked down. It’s not something that you enjoy, let’s put it that way.”
It’s fun for the students and the alumni but it can be a bit daunting for players trying to find their way the their respective locker rooms. There’s also always the possibility that fans run into players or coaches by accident.
The school got fined $250,000 for fans rushing the field and it’ll go up to $500,000 if it happens again.
The Tigers will go on the road to play the Razorbacks of Arkansas this Saturday before traveling to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies on October 26.
