The first of (hopefully) many incoming transfers
LSU took its first step toward rebuilding the tight end room as Oklahoma’s Bauer Sharp told On3 that he’ll be transferring to LSU.
Sharp will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Originally from Alabama, Sharp’s college career actually began in Louisiana as he started at Southeastern. Sharp was originally a quarterback during the 2021 season before making the switch to tight end in the spring of ‘22.
Sharp caught 11 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown during the 2022 season. He also ran the ball 10 times for 83 yards. In his final year with the Lions he caught 29 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns; he’s a good athlete because he ran the ball 25 times and scored three touchdowns.
This year at Oklahoma, Sharp was the Sooners’ leading receiver with 42 grabs for 324 yards.
Sharp likely slides in as LSU’s No. 1 tight end on the 2025 depth chart. There’s plenty of playing time to be had now that Mason Taylor has declared for the NFL Draft, Ka’Morreun Pimpton has entered the transfer portal, and the coaching staff appears to be training Trey’Dez Green up to be a wide receiver. LSU did sign incoming freshman JD LaFleur on signing day, but they’ll still likely need to add a second tight end via the portal.
