Two for the price of…two, actually
This is slightly different than the usual commitment story.
LSU’s 2026 recruiting class got two new members Wednesday when twin sisters Annalisa and Malea Milton announced their commitments. The Milton twins are from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and train at GAGE. For simplicity’s sake, I’ll break down each one’s career and ranking separately starting with Annalisa.
Annalisa Milton
Annalisa Milton is a 4-star recruit according to College Gym News’ recruiting rankings. She began her Level 10 career in December 2019, but she didn’t make an appearance at a major Level 10 competition until April 2021 due to Covid. At the April 2021 Region 4 regional competition, Annalisa competed in the Junior A division and finished 4th on vault and 4th in the all-around while tying for the division’s bars title. At Level 10 nationals, her only top five finish was a tie for 2nd on beam.
In 2022, Annalisa began focusing on her elite career. In February, she made her debut at the Winter Cup in the junior elite division, but she finished outside the top 5 on everything. In early July, she dominated the American Classic by winning the all-around, vault and floor titles and tying for 2nd on vault. At the U.S. Classic in late July, she tied for 5th on vault and in the all-around and won the floor title outright. At the OOFOS U.S. Gymnastics Championship in August, she tied for 5th on vault and finished 10th in the all-around.
Annalisa hasn’t had the same level of results since becoming a senior elite in 2023 thanks to the heightened level of competition, but she managed to snag a 5th place finish on vault at the 2024 Core Hydration Classic and an 8th place finish on vault at the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships. From a pure talent perspective, she’s the biggest win for LSU’s future success.
Malea Milton
Malea Milton is a 3-star recruit according to CGN’s recruiting rankings. Her career path has gone at the same rate as her twin sister’s, but she hasn’t seen as much success yet. At 2021 regionals, she finished 4th on bars, her only top five finish. She did not compete at Level 10 nationals. She made her Winter Cup debut in February 2022, but she finished outside the top 10 on every event. She did well at the 2022 American Classic, finishing 9th on bars, 4th on floor and the all-around, tied for 4th on beam and 3rd on vault. At the 2022 U.S. Classic, she tied for 8th in vault and floor and finished 10th in the all-around.
Since making the jump to senior elite status in 2023, Malea’s only top 10 finishes have come at the American Classic in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, she finished 8th on bars and floor, 7th in the all-around and won the beam title outright. In 2024, she tied for 6th in the all-around and tied for 2nd on floor.
The twins also took official visits to Oregon State and Cal before their visit to LSU.
