Tigers pick up an intriguing cornerback prospect from Ruston
Corey Raymond has been back in Baton Rouge for about eight months and he’s already making an impact on the recruiting trail.
Raymond has secured the commitments from two elite high school cornerbacks, and on Saturday he added a third corner to LSU’s 2025 recruiting class when Ruston’s Aidan Anding announced he would be joining LSU’s class.
Anding is a high three-star prospect so he’s not quite as ballyhooed as DJ Pickett or Kade Phillips, but Anding didn’t really start playing football until this past year.
“Really, it’s the in-state school, but me, I wasn’t much of a football player (growing up),” Anding told On3. “I was a basketball player, but I didn’t really watch basketball that much. I had nothing in my mind about football. But, after hearing (about LSU) and seeing stuff about it, it’s a good program, for one, and it’s the in-state school with a lot of fans and love shown to that program.”
Anding clearly has some serious untapped potential because he has offers from LSU, Texas, Arkansas, Ole Miss, USC, and Miami among others. Anding is listed as the No. 12 player in Louisiana.
With the addition of Anding, LSU now has 25 commitments in its 2025 recruiting class. The class is still ranked third nationally.
