Jose Alvarado Injured During AmeriCup Game

New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado was injured while playing for Puerto Rico in the AmeriCup quarterfinals. Alvarado fell on his tailbone while jostling for a rebound in overtime of Puerto Rico's loss to Argentina. He was down on the ground for several minutes before being removed from the arena on a stretcher. Alvarado later indicated he was ok. Competing for Puerto Rico on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the 2025 AmeriCup, Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado took a hard fall to the court in overtime and had to be taken off the court on a stretcher (Twitter video links).
